POSITION: Senior Real Estate Paralegal

SALARY: Base salary up to $145,000

SUMMARY:

Under the Real Estate Department, Paralegals help to provide legal service of the highest caliber to our clients. They assist in all phases of client transactions, including due diligence document reviews, drafting/negotiation sessions, corporate filings, closings and post-closing matters. They frequently conduct research and assist in compiling corporate information binders. Our Paralegals assume a high level of responsibility for keeping track of, organizing, proofreading, filing and distributing documents related to corporate real estate deals. They interact frequently with partners, associates and clients. The ideal candidate will know how to meet the Firm’s standards of excellence in supporting our attorney teams and will play an active role in helping the Firm to provide legal services of the highest caliber to our clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist attorneys in all aspects of Real Estate matters
  • Draft, organize, prepare and attend closings
  • Prepare and update timetables and checklists
  • Organize, maintain, read and edit documents for sense, consistency, cross references, format, facts, calculations and typos
  • Obtain comments on draft documents from other parties
  • Handle all incoming and outgoing correspondence via electronic and paper mail
  • Summarize, outline, abstract and compare documents
  • Coordinate and manage calendar and deadlines for trials, depositions, business and client meetings, conference calls, appointments, travel and personal matters
  • Prepare draft documents
  • Provide closing assistance
  • Prepare documents for Records
  • Review title matters
  • Assist other members of the Real Estate group as needed and performing other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with high academic standing
  • 5+ years of real estate legal assistant/paralegal experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at once
  • Availability to work overtime as needed
