Public Relations Analyst

LOCATION: New York, NY

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Play an integral role in the execution of initiatives focused on raising firm and lawyer awareness in the media
  • Responsible for drafting and editing content for press releases and internal/external communications
  • Collaborate with the department to assist with the development and implementation of firm-wide media relations strategies and plans
  • Use various media and tools to coordinate firm brand marketing
  • Monitor and compile firm news clips
  • Oversee and track internal and external news announcements and media pitches that increase firm visibility necessitating an understanding for key industries, legal themes, issues and solutions
  • Collaborate with practice leaders and business development department to advance marketing efforts
  • Draft, edit and finalize directory and award submissions
  • Manage logistics for press releases and interviews
  • Help Prep partners for interviews by providing important topics and relevant information related to the outlet
  • Maintain media lists and general outreach in relation to the firm’s public relations and marketing initiatives
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of a variety of marketing-related materials and content for the firm website and intranet

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 2+ years of experience in public/media relations or corporate communications in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required; English, Journalism or Public Relations focus desired
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and ability to learn new software as needed
  • Experience with media monitoring tools, media databases and content management systems are a plus
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills
  • Close attention to detail and ability to maintain sight of long-term strategic goals
  • Ability to think creatively and pragmatically
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work while working independently or as part of a team
