LEGAL PRACTICE ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR

LOCATION: Boston, MA

SUMMARY: Top-ranked global law firm is seeking a Legal Practice Assistant Supervisor to collaborate and interact with the Director of Legal Administrative services and ensure that support functions are in place for each practice group out of the firm’s tight-knit Boston office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and maintain daily staffing requirements of legal executive assistants 
  • Manage workflow between floor coordinators and practice group centers
  • Inform manager of/document any potential issues 
  • Develop team efforts across all practice groups
  • Prepare and recommend training, mentoring and individualized assessment training for new and existing legal executive assistants
  • Develop and propose new strategies to improve upon cluster and practice group center procedures
  • Manage the integration process of new legal practice assistants with the procedures and fundamentals of their practice group
  • Educate attorneys on services provided by legal practice assistants
  • Communicate with both partners and associates and legal practice assistants to ensure administrative support standards are met
  • Assist Director of Administrative Services in the annual performance review process of staff

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a role providing legal administrative support, and/or coordinating/supervising such support at an elite global law firm
  • Experience as a supervisor of junior staff is required
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs such as, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Excellent work ethic and strong teamwork skills in a high volume, high pressure environment
  • Must be flexible, organized, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a calm, pleasant demeanor
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, staff and clients
