Competitive Intelligence Manager – Market Research

LOCATION: Chicago, IL

SUMMARY: Seeking a highly motivated Competitive Intelligence Manager to oversee initiatives and team members. This role will collaborate closely with leadership, senior attorneys and other administrative staff to identify high-value projects and opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage operations for the BI group in the Chicago office
  • Serve as subject matter expert regarding peer firms and strategic direction
  • Collaborate with the BI Associate Director on professional development matters and projects
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices
  • Ensure BI team meets and/or exceeds data standards
  • Lead research projects across practices for the Chicago office
  • Monitor alerts and news flow to support BI team initiatives
  • Assist with marketing initiatives
  • Conduct research on key stakeholders to engage with to maximize strategic communication between event participants and law firm partners / executives
  • Report key marketing and BI metrics; identify efficiencies and areas of improvement
  • Perform competitive intelligence research and leverage legal and technology best practices to recommend and facilitate innovative solutions and redefine existing solutions as needed
  • Assist with management of project and department budget

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years of experience in a law firm, finance-related or professional services environment
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Working knowledge of Adobe and SharePoint 
  • Able to prioritize, organize and meet multiple projects deadlines at one time
  • Motivated, energetic and persuasive
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates good judgment in communication
  • Excellent customer service orientation and listening skills
  • Works well under pressure and in a collaborative environment
