Legal Billing Analyst

Location: New York, NY

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and maintain billing portfolios
  • Maintain the billing system’s data
  • Interpret and process Partner billing instructions into the billing system
  • Review time entries to ensure proper matter coding, billing rates, compliance with client guidelines and/or e-billing guidelines
  • Prepare client bills
  • Ensure all analysis is proofread and accurately presented
  • Maintain the specifics of particular billing arrangements between clients and Partners
  • Process bill batches 
  • Respond to client billing and payment queries
  • Assist with cash receipts and research cash receipt issues
  • Communicate with staff as related to billing
  • Maintain reporting schedules
  • Prepare daily and weekly billing report for Firm management
  • Process both scheduled and ad-hoc billing reports for the Partners
  • Prepare final year-end billing analysis
  • Prepare client-related billing projects
  • Submit and monitors e-bills to various e-billing sites

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2+ years of billing experience; preferably legal billing
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • Strong knowledge in E-billing systems, electronic invoicing and compliance with client billing guidelines
  • Elite 3E Electronic Billing Systems experience a plus
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Interpersonal skills in order to work effectively within a team environment, as well as independently with a great group of co-workers.
