POSITION: Controller

LOCATION: New York, NY | Washington, DC

OVERVIEW: The Controller will lead the global Finance Department. This role is responsible for managing general accounting operations, as well as financial strategy across the Firm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a team of Finance Managers and oversee accounting and treasury operations
  • Oversee global payroll processes
  • Ensure audits are completed at year-end
  • Maintain and update fixed asset inventory database
  • Perform depreciation analysis and projections throughout the year
  • Maintain and update partner capital records and statements
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis and maintain a rolling year end projection
  • Manage the Firm’s accounts with various financial institutions
  • Create new documentation, as needed
  • Work closely with the General counsel’s office to ensure firm policies are adhered to
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/finance or related field is required
  • MBA Preferred
  • 10+ years of accounting experience in legal or professional services
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting concepts
  • Experience with Aderant preferred
  • Ability to perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service to clients and attorneys while producing a high-quality work product
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team environment, as well as independently
  • Ability to adapt to new assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment is required
