Billing Specialist (Global Law Firm)
LOCATION: Washington, DC | Atlanta, GA | Reston, VA | Boston, MA | Palo Alto, CA
ORGANIZATION: International IP Law Firm
HYBRID SCHEDULE: 2 days in office / 3 days remote

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and distribute draft and final billing reports and client bills/invoices
- Identify, research and follow-up on client and vendor rejections
- Identify billing discrepancies
- Manage monthly workflow allocation
- Administer the Firm’s write off procedures
- Work closely with the Collections Specialists to resolve outstanding issues and reissuance of invoices
- Submit client invoices
- Demonstrate an understanding of e-billing systems, processes and procedures
- Perform client accounting and collection activities for assigned clients in a timely manner
- Monitor aging of unbilled fees for assigned partners and/or clients
- Monitor and manage outstanding accounts receivable, unapplied funds and collection efforts
- Track status of bills submitted, identify issues, and work to address rejections and reductions as they arise
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 5+ years of law firm billing experience required
- 3+ years of Elite (Enterprise or 3E) or Aderant accounting software experience required
- Working knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on Word and Excel
- Familiarity with various e-billing software systems (Serengeti, Collaborati, Passport, BillingPoint, CounselLink and Bill Blast)
- Perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service to clients and attorneys while producing a high quality work product
- Able to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Outstanding interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team environment, as well as independently
