Senior Human Resources Manager

Location: Chicago, IL

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in headcount planning and annual recruitment strategy
  • Collaborate with recruiting team to drive fair, strategic and timely recruitment processes and review compensation and offer details
  • Ensure an onboarding process that offers a seamless transition and experience
  • Support new hires’ integration into the team
  • Drive employee engagement, upskilling and promotion
  • Partner with Finance and Paralegal department leaders to identify and execute training and development opportunities for employees
  • Provide training to employees and supervisors
  • Coach and train supervisors on delivering performance review feedback
  • Identify potential promotional opportunities 
  • Create and deliver performance warnings and performance improvement plans
  • Support internal equity, ensure competitive salary ranges and anticipate potential compensation discussions
  • Offer suggestions around market adjustments, off-cycle compensation adjustments and special hiring arrangements
  • Conduct staff exit interviews
  • Manage the separation/offboarding process
  • Address issues or concerns as related to employee relations; lead employee investigations
  • Gather and analyze metrics to identify trends and recommend strategies aligning with business objectives and decision making
  • Effectively utilizes the Firm's performance management process to communicate performance expectations, monitor performance, coach employees, and manage unsatisfactory performance

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of Human Resources experience in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PeopleSoft
  • Current knowledge of Human Resources practices, techniques and business trends
  • Ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in an organization and inspire trust and confidence at all levels
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
