OVERVIEW: The Senior Risk Analyst reports to the Business Intake Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring client data integrity and that client matter adheres to the Firm’s standards while being thoroughly and accurately organized and documented. This role also conducts the final review of new clients, and research of new business matters/revisions to existing clients or personnel. As a Risk Analyst, you will perform conflict-of-interest checks, including for potential new clients and matters, to ensure that the Firm avoids conflicts with its current and potential clients' interests.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze and routinely maintain client and matter information in the firm’s database and identify potential areas of quality improvement
- Ensure documented data is of high quality and integrity for matters pertaining to new business clients or firm matters through the application intake process
- Provide attorneys and Conflict Analysts/Attorneys with accurate and timely information to facilitate making informed decisions regarding the acceptance of new business and hiring
- Manage information, review and triage conflict requests while ensuring thoughtfulness and accuracy with both current and past client-matter data that is researched and reported to Firm personnel
- Communicate with attorneys and business intake and conflicts personnel to ensure that we have complete and accurate information.
- Perform comprehensive corporate research using the firm’s commercial data providers and external sources and complete new business intake forms
- Identify potential conflict and risk concerns and provide a concise and complete summary of analysis and findings to the appropriate firm personnel
- Verify that all client data is complete, consistent, and accurate and that all Firm conflicts procedures have been followed
- Assist in the identification of potential conflicts of interest; select, analyze and remove irrelevant information to produce Conflict Check Reports
- Follow up and serve as a resource to the firm’s attorneys and administrators regarding conflict concerns
- Take partners with departmental colleagues and attorneys regarding conflict issues and suggest resolutions or restructuring methods when necessary
- Collaborate with team members on conflicts concerns, searches and projects, with attention to deadlines and time-sensitive issues
- Contribute to process, procedure, and technology improvements in order to reduce risk and improve efficiency
- Assist in the development and training of other Conflicts Analysts
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to attorneys with risk management systems, compliance reminders, etc
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- 5+ years of analytical research, reporting and conflicts searching or risk management experience in a professional services environment
- Knowledge of conflict of interest concepts, client regulations, relational databases and strong grasp of grammar rules
- Ability to remain calm and function under pressure
- Strong verbal and written communications, interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management and staff
- Must have advanced proficiency working in MS Office
- Ability to collaborate smoothly with many other people and departments
- Ability to be proactive, organize/prioritize work and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Willingness to work overtime and be available to reach through mobile device or urgent situations when necessary
