Corporate Franchise Paralegal

LOCATION: Washington, DC

SUMMARY: Seeking a Corporate Franchise Paralegal in Washington, DC to work closely with and provide support to a top-ranked law firm. Candidate willing to work independently in a fast-paced, corporate environment. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Summarizes, collects, and evaluates pertinent facts and legal concepts
  • Utilize various methods of information retrieval methods of necessary information 
  • Research the registered agents for business entities
  • Draft legal correspondence and communications for superiors
  • Participate in the dissolution of corporations, LLCs, LPs, and more
  • File documents per the required Departments of State per case and applicable company 
  • Manage and maintain corporate filings and documentation records
  • Maintain confidential client information and case management software; improve workflow regarding storage and recall of materials
  • Create and proofread agreements for content, accuracy and format
  • Handles sensitive documents in a professional manner
  • Conduct non-legal and legal research; perform due-diligence
  • Prepare correspondence, audit letters responses, working group lists and closing checklists
  • Assist with review of routine documents pertaining to franchise/corporate work
  • Assist with the collection of good standings from applicable foreign countries in order to qualify within the states

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Uphold the necessary billable hour requirements
  • Notary license is a plus
  • Franchise exposure and comfortability 
  • 2+ years of paralegal experience
  • Prior experience drafting contracts 
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong research skills
  • Great communication skills written and verbal
  • Able to multitask and prioritize assignments as necessary
