Word Processing Operator (with Private Car Service Home!)

HOURS & DAYS: 

  • 3 Days (Thursday & Friday; 8:00 PM – 9:00 AM AND Saturday 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM)
  • 4 Days (Tuesday – Thursday; 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM AND Friday 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
  • 4 Days (Sunday – Tuesday; 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM AND Wednesday 8:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
  • 5 Days (Monday-Friday; 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

LOCATION: New York, NY – Midtown Manhattan

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Base Salary to $95,000 plus well paid overtime; bonus, daily car service, 401K match, sick/personal days and more!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and revise complex legal documents while adhering to Firm formatting guidelines
  • Meet with attorneys and administrative staff to discuss documents while keeping a log of the work to be completed
  • Revise, format, proofread and blackline documents
  • Format and create Table of Contents and Table of Authorities
  • Scan documents either for conversion to Word or emailing in PDF format
  • Convert large documents between formats including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Adobe and Visio
  • Download and print data from multiple sites
  • Troubleshoot document and/or technical inquiries
  • Cross reference legal documents and perform defined term checks
  • Extensive typing (either from handwritten notes, Dictaphone tapes, digital dictation, or pre-typed drafts), formatting and revising legal documents
  • Provide technical help when required

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 3+ years of experience as a word processor or document processor in a legal or financial services organization
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Acrobat, OmniPage, and Outlook
  • Excellent work ethic and strong teamwork skills in a high volume, minimally staffed environment
  • Must be flexible, organized, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a calm, pleasant demeanor
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, make independent, well thought out decisions and troubleshoot documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, staff and clients
  • Accurately type 60 wpm or higher
