POSITION: Trusts & Estates Paralegal

LOCATION: Boca Raton, Florida

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Base salary up to $115,000 plus Bonus, Medical, Dental and Vision benefits, generous vacation and sick/personal days, paid holidays, 401K, and more!

ORGANIZATION: Renowned Trust & Estates (Administration & Planning) Law Firm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all aspects of estate planning and estate and trust and administration
  • Prepare, service and file court papers for probate proceedings, appointments or resignations of fiduciaries, disclaimers, and inventories, and claims against estates
  • Prepare Federal and New York estate tax returns
  • Prepare beneficiary designation forms and asset transfer forms
  • Perform all aspects of insurance trust administration from transfer of policies to trusts, preparation of “crummy” notices, and management of trust bank accounts for payment of premiums
  • Prepare federal estate tax returns and appropriate state estate tax returns
  • Manage client contact information, letters, e-mails, estate planning documents and asset lists
  • Collect and run a valuation of assets, payment of debts and bequests
  • Prepare and file federal and state tax returns
  • Prepare informal estate and trust accounting
  • Prepare receipts and releases

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of Trust & Estates experience within a law firm
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work and coordinate for high-profile clients on a regular basis
  • Familiarity with procedures of courts and regulatory agencies required
  • Experience working with tax preparation and accounting software (e.g., OneSource) preferred
  • The ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at once
  • Experience in legal research and locating individuals
  • Ability to draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care documents is a plus
  • Notary license is a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Word and proficiency with Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff
  • Highly adaptable, proactive and works well under pressure
