Trial Litigation Paralegal
Location: Newark, New Jersey

Summary: National law firm is seeking an experienced trial Paralegal to provide support to the litigation departments. Having the confidence and skills to support a fast-paced environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review documents regarding incoming and outgoing production and discovery
- Perform document production and review including but not limited to organizing documents, create and maintain privilege logs and performing bates-stamping, redaction, duplication and indexing of documents
- Assemble and collate exhibits and legal documents to assist with preparation of motions and trial
- Assist with trial preparation, including, organizing and preparing trial exhibits, trial notebooks and binders; scheduling, coordinating and communicating with clients, experts and fact witnesses. Oversee junior paralegals and provide case management guidance
- Draft and proofread correspondence, court papers and other legal and non-legal documents
- Prepare documents and materials for trial and arbitration; Bluebook and cite-check
- Assist attorneys with high complex litigation
- Prepare and organize produced and privileged documents with bates numbers
- Assist with projects, including preparation of Court documents
- Prepare legal articles and memorandums regarding recent reported law decisions
- Research local rules relating to procedure for various court venues and research precedent from other cases in those venues (ex. judge’s bio, research prior decisions and opinions, etc)
- Analyze, research and summarize legal information
- Interview and advise clients and witnesses
- Directly interact with legal and compliance professionals
- Set up war rooms for trial
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 5+ years of complex litigation experience required
- Trial experience required
- Strong proofreading, editing and formatting skills; ability to draft documents
- Proficiency using MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Adobe
- Familiar with Westlaw, Textmap, Relativity, LexisNexis, Blue Book and PACER
- Background in criminal law, commercial foreclosure or collection work is preferred
