Special Assistant to Managing Partner

LOCATION: New York, NY –  Midtown Manhattan

COMPENSATION: Base salary to $95K, plus paid overtime, very generous bonus, medical benefits, PTO, 401K, transit, all firm amenities, and more! 

SUMMARY: The Special Assistant provides direct support to a respected Managing Partner within the firm. Functioning as an EA/Chief of Staff, this individual will have a degree of autonomy and a broad range of internal and external facing responsibilities. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working hard as a member of a high-caliber and dedicated team, is comfortable working overtime (paid) and has the desire to take their career to the next level with a top law firm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and develop points of mention, speech drafts, presentations, proposals, and other communications for firm and external use (may be highly confidential and require discretion)
  • Provide analytical and specialized executive level legal support to the Managing Partner 
  • Function with autonomy and work on special projects 
  • Interface and establish ongoing positive business relations as a point of contact wwith various members of leadership, associates, and stakeholders
  • Attend meetings on behalf of the Partner, capturing detailed notes and action items
  • Schedule and arrange meetings and conferences
  • Manage the Partner’s calendar: confirming meeting, participants, organizing materials, preparation of schedules, etc
  • Additional tasks as assigned 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 3+ years of attorney support, business development, or legal project management experience in a law firm or professional services setting
  • Microsoft Office proficiency is required 
  • Willingness to work paid overtime on a regular basis 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, dispassionately and diplomatically
  • Detail oriented with strong day-to-day organizational skills
