KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide advanced research support to attorneys and business professionals across multiple practice areas.
- Conduct legal, corporate, financial, industry, regulatory, and competitive intelligence research using a variety of online and print resources.
- Research current and prospective clients to identify business development opportunities and market trends.
- Analyze findings and prepare concise reports, executive summaries, and actionable insights.
- Evaluate and utilize a wide range of research tools, databases, and information resources to deliver accurate and timely results.
- Develop innovative research strategies to support complex business and legal requests.
- Deliver high-quality research services while managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
- Train and support users on research tools, databases, and knowledge management resources.
- Assist with onboarding and educational programs for attorneys and professional staff.
- Develop and maintain research guides, resource materials, alerts, and knowledge-sharing content.
- Coordinate document retrieval requests and manage external research resources when appropriate.
- Monitor incoming research requests and ensure prompt, accurate completion.
- Test and evaluate new research technologies, AI tools, and information platforms.
- Participate in database evaluations, vendor communications, and technology implementation initiatives.
- Stay current on industry developments, legal trends, and emerging research methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve research services and support strategic initiatives.
- Perform additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent research experience will be considered.
- 10+ years of research experience within a law firm, professional services organization, corporate environment, or financial institution.
- Strong experience conducting legal, corporate, financial, regulatory, and competitive intelligence research.
- Demonstrated proficiency using advanced legal, financial, business, and research databases.
- Experience utilizing AI-powered research tools and emerging technologies to improve research efficiency.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong data analysis and information synthesis abilities with excellent report-writing skills.
- Proven project management and organizational skills.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and research technologies.
