SUMMARY: Top-ranked law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to provide support to busy litigation teams. Having the confidence and skills to support a fast-paced environment is essential. Someone who has the desire to work as a member of a respected firm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and effectively follow CA Federal, State, and Local district court rules and regulations
  • Comfortable working on cases pertaining to government investigations (i.e., SEC or DOJ)
  • Review documents regarding incoming and outgoing production and discovery
  • Conduct cite-checking, research applicable case files, and produce notated briefs 
  • Assemble and collate exhibits and legal documents to assist with preparation of motions
  • Assist with trial preparation, including, organizing and preparing trial exhibits, trial notebooks and binders; scheduling, coordinating and communicating with clients, experts and fact witnesses
  • Draft and proofread correspondence, court papers, and other legal and non-legal documents
  • Assist with preparation for interviews, depositions, trials, hearings, and other related case meetings
  • Prepare and organize produced and privileged documents with bates numbers
  • Prepare legal articles and memorandums regarding recent reported law decisions
  • Research local rules relating to procedure for various court venues and research precedent from other cases in those venues (ex. judge’s bio, research prior decisions and opinions, etc)
  • Analyze, research, and summarize legal information
  • Interview and advise clients and witnesses, under attorney supervision 
  • Directly interact with legal and compliance professionals
  • Research complex data analysis and assist with document retrieval 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Paralegal Certificate or equivalent certification required; in alignment with California paralegal regulations
  • 5+ years of paralegal, legal assistant or case assistant support in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Experience with Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, and SEC/EDGAR
  • Prior experience working with Relativity, TextMap, or CaseMap
  • Proficiency using MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Adobe
  • Track record of working on complex court filings; electronic and paper
