AUDIT PARALEGAL

LOCATION: New York, NY

ORGANIZATION: Top-Ranked International Law Firm 

SUMMARY: Responsible for important firm administrative duties, including the company’s audit processing, regulatory matters and various tasks relating to attorneys in all offices of the Firm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report to Senior Legal Counsel
  • Handle audit inquiries and responses for U.S. and European offices; approximately 450 audit responses and updates a year
  • Review prior responses for disclosures to be updated
  • Run billing reports program in search of attorney names with relevant experience
  • Ensure timely response to surveys, re-circulating and calling when necessary
  • Obtain descriptions of disclosable matters
  • Maintain a running Excel document detailing the stages of preparation of each response
  • Maintain continuous communication with the Firm’s clients and external accountants
  • Keep track of the Firm’s malpractice and EPLI insurance binder
  • Track the minutes of Firm meetings
  • Record minutes of Governance Committee meetings
  • Maintain record lawyer regulation and risk management
  • Organize and maintain confidential Firm files; e-file necessary documents
  • Organize confidential partner documents
  • Conduct various administrative tasks such as document searches, creating charts, writing letters and other forms of communication
  • Govern input and upkeep of the Firm’s Contracts and Management databases 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal 
  • Showcase meticulous organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written skills
  • Must be resourceful, detail-oriented, organized and proactive
  • Embody high performance standards and attention to detail
  • Experience utilizing MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
