THE ORGANIZATION:
Elite International Law Firm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the organization’s records and information management program, ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and security of physical and electronic records.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve records management policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage relationships with third-party records storage and destruction vendors to ensure compliance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives related to records and information management.
- Prepare reports, analytics, and metrics to monitor records management activities and support operational decision-making.
- Oversee the complete records lifecycle, including retention, review, archiving, and defensible destruction.
- Partner with legal and business teams to ensure proper classification, retention, and disposition of records.
- Coordinate client file transfers and records-related requests.
- Develop and deliver training programs to promote organization-wide compliance with records management policies.
- Administer legal hold processes and ensure appropriate preservation and release of records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support broader information governance initiatives.
- Lead process improvements and recommend technology solutions to enhance records management operations.
- Supervise records management staff and provide guidance, coaching, and performance oversight.
- Perform additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Information Management, Library Science, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Advanced degree or professional certifications in records or information governance are highly desirable.
- 8+ years of records management, information governance, or related experience, including previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience managing electronic records management systems and document management platforms.
- Professional services, legal, or other highly regulated industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of records management principles, retention practices, compliance, and information governance.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, solve problems, and implement process improvements.
- Experience developing policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- High level of professionalism, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and records management technologies.
- Ability to work additional hours when business needs require.
