Patent Paralegal
Location: Boston, MA
The Organization: Large U.S. Based Multinational Law Firm

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with filings and monitor proceedings in USPTO

Assist with drafting of formal documents (Declarations, PoA, Assignments), and US Prosecution Papers
-
Prepare PCT documents and foreign formalities forms
-
Communicate deadlines and instructions to clients
-
Communicate deadlines and instructions to foreign associates
-
Populate patent status charts
-
Monitor status of applications, by contacting the USPTO, WIPO and foreign associates
-
Collaborate with docketing paralegals, attorneys and agents on managing and advising of deadlines; prepare/distribute dockets and status reports
-
Ensure that all files and documents are saved digitally through filesite according to filing protocols

Handle special projects related to due diligence

Record and track billing time

Provide support to the Patent Practice by working on the prosecution manual, compiling forms, and through other efficiency and management tasks
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification required
-
6+ years of experience with both domestic and international patents; with a comprehensive understanding of international deadlines

Ability to follow protocol and procedures without guidance

Strong organizational skills

Collaborate work-style, ability to work professionally and respectfully with individuals at all levels as part of a team

CPI, USPTO, USPTO PAIR, Filesite, EFS, EPAS, Microsoft Office Suite
