Litigation Paralegal

Position Summary

An established law firm is seeking a seasoned Litigation Paralegal to provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling complex civil matters. This role involves assisting throughout the entire litigation lifecycle, from case initiation and discovery through trial and post-trial proceedings, in both California state and federal courts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and pretrial documents in compliance with applicable court rules
  • Manage discovery processes, including document production, case chronologies, witness lists, and exhibit indexes
  • Provide trial preparation and in-court support, including exhibits, witness materials, and electronic presentations
  • Organize and oversee large volumes of case materials using litigation support platforms such as Relativity, CaseMap, and NetDocuments
  • Conduct legal and factual research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and court databases
  • Act as liaison with attorneys, clients, experts, and witnesses, including coordinating witness preparation
  • Attend trials to assist attorneys with exhibits and witness management
  • Support post-trial activities such as verdict tracking, judgment packages, and appellate record organization

Qualifications

  • Compliance with California Business & Professions Code § 6450
  • Bachelor’s degree plus completion of an ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate program
  • 5+ years of litigation experience, including significant trial and federal court exposure
  • Strong knowledge of California and federal court procedures, including electronic filing systems (One Legal, CM/ECF)
  • Proficiency with litigation technology and trial presentation tools (Relativity, CaseMap, TrialDirector, NetDocuments, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: Equivalent to $90,000 – $115,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include:
