Litigation Docketing Specialist

FULLY REMOTE OPPORTUNITY

LOCATION: Sacramento, CA | Silicon Valley, CA | Orange County, CA | Los Angeles, CA | San Diego, CA | San Francisco, CA

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review emails received to determine docketing necessity
  • Make informed decisions with regards to qualifying docket items
  • Assess and stage priority of all received items 
  • Communicate with case teams to gather essential information
  • Respond to inquiries from the litigation teams
  • Perform research as necessary
  • Verify applicability of deadlines 
  • Maintain and strive to improve processes and procedures to ensure accurate entry of calendar and docket dates
  • Promote the firm’s docketing policies and procedures
  • Review documents for court and filing deadlines
  • Provide relevant information from the docket database, as requested by attorneys and staff
  • Streamline docketing procedures, including the maintenance of rule sets in the docket database
  • Calculate deadlines based on regulations and court requirements
  • Monitor and ensure deadline accuracy of electronic court filings
  • Liaise with attorneys and key staff to provide information about the docketing system and any changes to rules and regulations

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 7+ years of current CA litigation experience and 7+ years of current Federal litigation experience required
  • Prior litigation paralegal or legal secretary experience; large law firm experience highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of ProLaw, Compulaw or eDockets software 
  • Excellent research skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision, while complying with strict deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Impeccable attention to detail
