COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Competitive compensation package with a target base salary of approximately $275,000–$375,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities
- Advise high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and family offices on sophisticated estate planning, wealth preservation, and succession strategies.
- Counsel clients on domestic and international estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning.
- Develop and implement cross-border estate planning structures, including pre-immigration and international tax planning strategies.
- Coordinate planning involving non-U.S. assets and collaborate with foreign legal and tax advisors on international matters.
- Represent fiduciaries and beneficiaries in probate, estate administration, trust administration, and related court proceedings.
- Guide individual and corporate fiduciaries through complex trust and estate administration matters.
- Oversee the preparation and review of estate, gift, fiduciary income tax, and related tax filings, including international reporting requirements.
- Advise clients on business succession planning, charitable planning, and multigenerational wealth transfer strategies.
- Collaborate with attorneys across corporate, tax, real estate, litigation, and related practice areas to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and professional advisors, including accountants, financial advisors, trustees, and family office professionals.
- Participate in client development initiatives, presentations, publications, and other business development activities.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school with active admission to the New York Bar.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in trusts and estates, private client services, or wealth planning within a law firm, accounting firm, family office, or comparable environment.
- Significant experience advising international clients and handling cross-border estate planning and trust administration matters.
- Strong technical knowledge of estate, gift, fiduciary, and international tax planning principles.
- Exceptional drafting, analytical, organizational, and client relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage sophisticated matters while working collaboratively in a team environment.
- LL.M. in Taxation or comparable advanced tax experience is preferred.
- Business development experience and/or an existing professional network is advantageous but not required.
