OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Director of HR Operations, the Time and Leave Supervisor leads the day-to-day supervision and workflow coordination of the firmwide Time and Absence team, with a strong emphasis on mentorship and training. The supervisor will work cross-functionally with the Firm's HR Operations team, HRIS Analysts, HR, IT, Benefits, and Payroll departments to ensure that the Firm's Time and Absence modules within the core HCM system are designed, developed, and maintained in a way that supports accurate tracking and reporting of Human Resources data.


  • Oversee the assistant and coordinator level staff within the Time and Absence Team 
  • Administer the department’s list of standard queries and ensure the results are processed efficiently
  • Assess various pieces of HR data to compare and ensure accuracy between modules to key data pieces (for instance, comparing standard hours to schedules or holiday schedules with office assignments, etc)
  • Respond to team questions pertaining to day-to-day system data-entry 
  • During busy periods or large projects, assist with time and absence entries
  • Prepare detailed reports, statistical summaries, and presentations to guide business/departmental objectives; provide recommendations to senior management 
  • Organize and lead team meetings, especially those focused on training and development
  • Review the sent items within the Time and Absence outlook inbox; checking for patterns, efficiencies, accuracy in response, and training opportunities
  • Guide team through adoption of departmental standards
  • Lead annual review for the Time and Absence team
  • Assist with system upgrades and technical tasks (bug fixes or enhancements); Take partners with IT, HR, and other firmwide departments
  • Establish annual overtime and absence-calendar 
  • Spearhead other initiatives and projects as needed


  • 5+ years related HR time/benefits/leave administration experience in a corporate environment or law firm setting 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prior leadership experience is preferred
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize, organize and work effectively with minimal supervision 
  • Able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels, firm management, and attorneys
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver
