POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Operations Generalist supports the full employee lifecycle by providing operational and administrative HR support across multiple office locations. This role partners with leadership and employees to ensure consistent HR practices while contributing to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and talent development initiatives.
This hybrid position is based in New York and supports several regional offices. Periodic travel to assigned locations is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers regarding policies, procedures, and employment-related questions.
- Support employee relations matters while maintaining confidentiality and escalating issues when appropriate.
- Assist managers with performance management documentation and employee coaching processes.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, including new hire orientation and employment documentation.
- Maintain employee records and organizational data within the HR information system.
- Process employee status changes and ensure accurate personnel records.
- Support benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, and employee benefit inquiries.
- Coordinate leave administration, including tracking requests and communicating with employees and third-party administrators.
- Assist with recruiting efforts for professional and administrative staff positions.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and coordinate recruitment activities.
- Manage relationships with staffing agencies and external recruiting partners.
- Support annual performance review programs and employee development initiatives.
- Prepare HR reports, compliance documentation, workforce metrics, and audit materials.
- Collaborate with HR team members on internal programs, employee engagement activities, and process improvements.
- Supervise administrative support staff and coordinate workflow coverage when necessary.
- Maintain effective working relationships with leadership and employees across multiple departments.
- Assist with special projects and additional HR initiatives as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of progressive human resources experience within a professional services environment.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using HRIS and applicant tracking systems; familiarity with enterprise HR platforms is preferred.
- Comfortable learning and responsibly utilizing AI-powered workplace productivity tools while maintaining data privacy and compliance standards.
- Ability to travel periodically to regional office locations as business needs require.
