HR Generalist – Health & Welfare Benefits

SUMMARY: Large Multinational Law Firm is seeking a Health & Welfare Benefits Generalist to provide direct support to the Health & Welfare Benefits Manager. This role will assist with all of the administrative operations of the benefits program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform the enrollment process for the benefits program
- Ensure benefits data and information is collected and managed in the firm’s HRIS and spreadsheets
- Enter benefits information into HRIS
- Perform COBRA administration
- Process status changes, payroll adjustments, invoice reports and wire requests
- Conduct audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy
- Act as point of contact to answer inquiries regarding benefits plans
- Act as liaison between employees and insurance carriers
- Assist with the Firm’s annual open enrollment process
- Conduct employee new hire orientations
- Recommend methods of improved procedures for health and welfare benefits processing
- Track and maintain the employee and COBRA participant records
- Participate in the training and development provided to staff, including meeting with facilitators, customizing training content, auditing classes, and collecting feedback
- Advise senior managers on effective performance management practices and partner with managers for year-end performance evaluation process
- Provide general HR support and guidance to all domestic and international offices
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Associate’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of health and welfare benefits administration experience
- 1+ years of experience working in a benefits capacity using Workday
- Experience with COBRA administration
- Knowledge of health and welfare benefits administrative procedures and applicable laws
- Knowledge of Excel and MS Word and an understanding of employee database applications
- Able to learn new software and operating systems
- Demonstrate close attention to detail
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
- Able to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
