HR Generalist – Health & Welfare Benefits

ORGANIZATION: Large U.S. Based Multinational Law Firm

SUMMARY: Large Multinational Law Firm is seeking a Health & Welfare Benefits Generalist to provide direct support to the Health & Welfare Benefits Manager. This role will assist with all of the administrative operations of the benefits program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform the enrollment process for the benefits program 
  • Ensure benefits data and information is collected and managed in the firm’s HRIS and spreadsheets
  • Enter benefits information into HRIS
  • Perform COBRA administration
  • Process status changes, payroll adjustments, invoice reports and wire requests
  • Conduct audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Act as point of contact to answer inquiries regarding benefits plans
  • Act as liaison between employees and insurance carriers
  • Assist with the Firm’s annual open enrollment process
  • Conduct employee new hire orientations
  • Recommend methods of improved procedures for health and welfare benefits processing
  • Track and maintain the employee and COBRA participant records
  • Participate in the training and development provided to staff, including meeting with facilitators, customizing training content, auditing classes, and collecting feedback
  • Advise senior managers on effective performance management practices and partner with managers for year-end performance evaluation process
  • Provide general HR support and guidance to all domestic and international offices
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years of health and welfare benefits administration experience
  • 1+ years of experience working in a benefits capacity using Workday
  • Experience with COBRA administration
  • Knowledge of health and welfare benefits administrative procedures and applicable laws
  • Knowledge of Excel and MS Word and an understanding of employee database applications
  • Able to learn new software and operating systems
  • Demonstrate close attention to detail
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
  • Able to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
