POSITION: Human Resources Benefits & Leave Supervisor

LOCATION: New York, New York

OVERVIEW: Seeking a highly motivated and organized Benefits & Leave Administration Supervisor to research current and upcoming leave legislation to ensure firm wide compliance with policies and procedures. This position involves overseeing all leaves of absences for professional staff and frequently collaborates with the HR Benefits and Payroll departments. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Stay up to date on emerging federal, state and local leave laws. Analyzing and implementing how changes to leave legislation will impact the current firmwide policies and procedures
  • Provide well thought out recommendations to stakeholders on how the Firm adapts to amended and proposed leave legislation to maintain compliance at all times
  • Take partners with HR, Benefits, and Payroll departments to administer leave management practices
  • Deep understanding of how leave laws intersect and communicates that to all parties involved
  • Oversee and administer entering of all leaves into the HRIS system and provides supporting documentation and tracking of all leaves such as disability, FMLA, PFL, and COVID sick leave
  • Digest information related to leave and communicate how extended leaves may impact PTO accruals in accordance with Firm policy
  • Arrange accommodation process in accordance with ADA guidelines and maintain files and documentation
  • Determines employee eligibility for all types of leaves and ensures leave time is coded with accuracy
  • Administers and tracks NYC Temporary Schedule Changes
  • Communicate effectively with employees and answer questions regarding leaves, eligibility, changes, accommodations, special circumstances, problem resolution, and compliance issues 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years related benefits/leave administration experience in a corporate environment
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS systems and reporting
  • Able to manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously, with a strong ability to prioritize, organize and work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates good judgement in communication verbally and in writing
  • Able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels, firm management, and attorneys
  • Able to maintain the utmost confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Works well under pressure and in a collaborative environment
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver
  • Effective researcher with great attention to detail in leave compliance
