Position Overview

A professional services organization is seeking a detail-oriented finance professional to support financial operations, reporting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to operational excellence by ensuring accurate financial transactions, supporting reporting and analysis, and assisting with projects designed to improve efficiency, controls, and overall business performance.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and interested in leveraging technology and process enhancements to strengthen financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

  • Review, validate, and process financial transactions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely completion of payment requests and escalate urgent matters when necessary.
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of financial records.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows and reduce manual effort.
  • Support the implementation of process enhancements and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with initiatives focused on automation, efficiency, and operational scalability.

Documentation & Controls

  • Develop and maintain process documentation, workflow guides, and training materials.
  • Promote consistency across financial operations through standardized procedures.
  • Support adherence to internal controls and compliance requirements.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare recurring financial and management reports.
  • Analyze data and provide insights to support business decision-making.
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting and information requests from stakeholders.

Vendor Administration

  • Support vendor onboarding and maintenance activities.
  • Verify required documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records within financial systems.

Audit & Compliance Support

  • Assist with internal and external audit activities.
  • Ensure supporting documentation is properly maintained and readily accessible.
  • Help monitor compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for finance-related inquiries.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
  • Provide timely and professional support across multiple business functions.

Special Projects

  • Participate in finance transformation initiatives and system enhancement projects.
  • Contribute to efforts that improve reporting capabilities, data quality, and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in finance, accounting, financial operations, or a related function.
  • Experience supporting nonprofit, charitable, or foundation-related activities is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business productivity applications.
  • Experience with financial systems, reporting platforms, or business intelligence tools preferred.
