Director of Recruiting and DE&I

LOCATION: New York, NY

SUMMARY: Top-ranked law firm is seeking a Director of Recruiting and DE&I to provide support for the recruiting functions at the firm. This role will be responsible for implementing new diversity initiatives and strategies. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all processes surrounding law student, staff, judicial clerk and lateral recruiting
  • Oversee OCI process from start to finish
  • Oversee the firm’s summer associate program
  • Develop and implement firmwide recruiting strategy
  • Collaborate with HR, PD and BD teams to create onboarding and integration strategies for all new hires
  • Oversee attorney offer process
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with law school leaders and career services offices
  • Manage professional development of legal recruiting staff
  • Drive the firm’s diversity, equity and inclusion strategies
  • Lead programs and initiatives for heritage months and firmwide training 
  • Oversee completion of firm DE&I surveys and reports
  • Monitor industry DE&I data 
  • Maintain a pulse on hiring marketing trends
  • Consistently evaluate candidate experience and find room for improvement and praise
  • Monitor and evaluate lateral hiring metrics; ensure positive experience for candidates

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 7+ years of relevant Recruiting and DE&I experience in a law firm environment required 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Must be innovative, analytical and have a collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with executives on plan and execution of strategic goals
  • Distinguished leadership qualities and superb communication skills
  • Strong ability to collaborate with senior executives
  • Sound judgment and discretion
