Director of Legal Recruiting

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define and execute recruitment strategy
- Identify partner, counsel, associate and summer associate needs
- Facilitate strategic decision-making throughout the hiring process
- Collaborate with Hiring Partners to ensure the successful implementation of the firm’s recruitment goals
- Establish effective relationships with third-party search firms
- Manage search firm agreements
- Build and deepen relationships with law school career services professionals and law student groups
- Execute and plan for the firm’s diversity fellowship program
- Plan and direct the firm’s summer associate program
- Collaborate with the firm’s Attorney Development team
- Encourage involvement across the firm
- Establish trust-based advisor relationships with firm leadership
- Lead the legal recruiting team collectively and individually
- Manage and analyze firm-wide recruiting data
- Develop attorney interviewer trainings for all levels of legal recruitment
- Maintain library of recruitment resources
- Direct efforts to consistently improve the candidate experience
- Partner in the firm’s strategic efforts to recruit and retain diverse talent
- Work with the Marketing Team to develop recruitment collateral for candidates, search firms and law student outreach efforts
- Oversee the firm’s participation in legal industry surveys and related firm profiles
- Prepare, manage and track recruitment related expenses to a detailed annual budget
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of relevant Legal Recruiting in a law firm environment
- Demonstrated experience managing attorney recruitment and effectively leading a team
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Must be innovative, analytical and have a collaborative approach to problem solving
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with executives on plan and execution of strategic goals
- Distinguished leadership qualities and superb communication skills
- Strong ability to collaborate with senior executives
- Sound judgment and discretion
