Compensation & Benefits

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead the development, review, and quality control of customized client presentations, proposals, and other business development materials.
  • Support strategic planning efforts related to client development, market positioning, and practice growth initiatives.
  • Monitor market, industry, and client developments to identify emerging opportunities and provide actionable intelligence to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and business development colleagues to support client targeting, relationship expansion, and new business pursuits.
  • Oversee ongoing business development projects and ensure timely execution of initiatives and reporting requirements.
  • Partner with internal teams on firmwide and cross-functional projects.

Research & Market Intelligence

  • Direct the preparation of research materials related to current and prospective clients, competitors, industries, and market trends.
  • Ensure business development opportunities, research activities, and outcomes are accurately tracked and maintained.
  • Manage processes for distributing relevant market intelligence and business development updates to attorneys and leadership.
  • Continuously refine monitoring processes and research priorities based on evolving business needs.

Content & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain and enhance business development content libraries, templates, and marketing collateral.
  • Oversee the collection, drafting, review, and approval of representative matters and experience descriptions.
  • Ensure practice, industry, and attorney marketing materials remain current, accurate, and aligned with organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with knowledge management and data teams to maintain the integrity of business development information and reporting.

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Manage workflow allocation, quality control, and prioritization across business development team members.
  • Provide coaching, training, and professional development support to junior staff.
  • Develop and maintain best-practice procedures, training materials, and operational resources.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and contribute to employee development planning.
  • Monitor team capacity and coordinate coverage for time-sensitive requests.
  • Collaborate with technology and operations teams to address process improvements and system-related challenges.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, practice growth efforts, onboarding and integration projects, sponsorship opportunities, and operational enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service delivery, and business development effectiveness.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; business, finance, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of six years of experience in business development, marketing, or related professional services functions.
  • Prior experience leading projects, mentoring team members, or supervising staff preferred.
  • Strong understanding of corporate transactions and financial markets, including areas such as mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, private equity, venture capital, lending, restructuring, and related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including experience interacting with senior professionals and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience using business intelligence, research, CRM, or knowledge management platforms is beneficial.
