SUMMARY: Top-ranked AM law firm is seeking an Assistant / Coordinator to support the Firm’s Litigation Practice within the Business Development team. The Business Development Assistant is responsible for supporting a variety of tasks, including pitches, proposals, events, speaking engagements, conferences, marketing maintenance and litigation tracking and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create early drafts of proposals and presentations
  • Track and maintain client pitches and practice initiatives
  • Monitor and report litigation
  • Plan and execute client events, on-site education programs, and seminars in collaboration with managers and other departments
  • Manage the firm's contact relationship management (CRM) database's activity and relationship tracking, as well as generating reports and high-level analysis on a regular basis
  • Gather data from various sources/databases to compile a variety of intelligence briefings on company/financial/private equity firm profiles and biographical dossiers
  • Engage in comprehensive research of the Firm’s transactions across a wide breadth of industries, geographies and transaction types using a variety of internal and external resources
  • Accurately capture and maintain comprehensive transaction deals in the Firm’s experience database
  • Refine and curate core materials related to specific industries, practice descriptions and representative experience
  • Conduct competitive intelligence and benchmarking research within an industry or among peer firms
  • Assist with survey responses and award submissions

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 1+ years of previous experience working in a law firm environment
  • Familiarity with the pitch process 
  • Basic understanding of litigation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and iManage
  • Working knowledge of CRM/Database Software 
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and proofing
  • Ability to interact adequately and professionally with senior-level attorneys, staff and guests
  • Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
