Benefits & Compliance Manager (Top Law Firm)

Location: New York, NY

The Organization: Top AMLaw Firm

Salary & Benefits: Base salary up to $225K, commensurate with experience; Generous bonus; Medical and Dental Coverage; generous Paid Time Off; 401K w/match; Life Insurance; exceptional culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Firm’s retirement plans
  • Coordinate ongoing review of 401(k) investment offering
  • Coordinate quarterly meetings with Retirement Administrative Committee and third party vendors
  • Benchmark the Firm’s benefits
  • Oversee the implementation of strategic benefit or vendor changes
  • Act as resident team expert on benefit plans
  • Coordinate annual benefit plan audits and actuarial testing compliance activity
  • Act as the Firm’s HIPAA Privacy Official
  • Develop and maintain various benefit communications
  • Coordinate and monitor insurance renewals
  • Advise employees on benefit eligibility
  • Oversee, track and maintain 401(k) eligibility and enrollment for all personnel
  • Interface with vendors of benefit plans
  • Assist with the benefits portion of new hire orientations
  • Manage the process of handling reasonable accommodation requests

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or advanced certification in Benefits highly preferred
  • 10+ years of experience managing benefits programs including administering welfare and retirement plans
  • Proven benefits compliance and administration experience is required
  • Expert knowledge of relevant benefits administration and laws/regulations (ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required with advanced Excel knowledge
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and Workday
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to perform various duties
  • Ability to work well under pressure and navigate tight deadlines while taking ownership over tasks big and small
