POSITION: Attorney Recruiting and Professional Development Manager

ORGANIZATION: International Law Firm 

LOCATION: New York, NY

HOURS: Monday – Friday, 9:00AM – 6:00PM

SUMMARY: The Attorney Recruiting Manager will develop tools and processes to successfully recruit lateral and summer associate candidates. The ideal candidate will have experience recruiting at a top AmLaw firm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as Point of Contact for new attorney hires

  • Develop hiring strategy and plans, in collaboration with senior management

  • Coordinate search implementation and approval of hires, including coordination of specific candidate terms

  • Full-cycle recruiting – from interview coordination to extension of an offer

  • Analysis of market data, as it relates to the legal field and recruitment

  • Maintain relationships with search agencies and other consultants

  • Manage implementation and knowledge base of lateral policies and procedures

  • Handle and plan Associate events calendar

  • Ensure that all attorneys are compliant with CLE requirements

  • Work to strengthen alumni relationships

  • Organize the Visiting Attorney Program, including coordinating immigration requirements (e.g. visas)

  • Manage compensation analysis for lateral hiring; manage mentorship programs

  • Implement lateral onboarding process, including committee and affinity group oversight 

  • Share resources, contacts and best practices with Recruiting and HR teams

  • Flexibility to adjust hours to meet departmental needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of experience in legal recruiting, lateral hiring, and professional development

  • AmLaw experience required

  • J.D. or M.A. preferred

  • Proficient in viDesktop, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and comfortable working in web-based databases/software

  • Vi Global Suite preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills 

  • Able to build professional relationships and to work with individuals at all seniority levels

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to balance short and long term priorities and goals

  • Team-oriented and willing to work on other projects as needed
