Attorney Professional Development Coordinator

LOCATION: New York, NY – Financial District

THE ORGANIZATION: International Law Firm

SUMMARY: The candidate understands their essential role as Coordinator is ensuring the development and success of the Firms Attorneys. This role collaborates with the Firm's offices globablly, the Attorney Professional Development Department and Partners within each practce area. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Coordinate and implement annual attorney review process for associates in New York office
  • Create surveys and develop sessions to obtain feedback from partners and attorneys
  • Design and maintain documentation related to attorney mid-year and year-end reviews
  • Encourage and design individualized training, furthering education or CLE courses as needed for attorneys; collaborate with attorney 
  • Monitor and report on staffing successes and areas of improvement; design plans for areas of improvement and see them through execution 
  • Serve as the point of contact and resource for attorneys 
  • Organize attorney development meetings and trainings lawyers; follow up on feedback and success based on practice group 
  • Oversee attorney mentorship program; design activities and encourage professional development
  • Assist managers and practice group leaders in designing professional development curriculum 
  • Provide professional and attorney development committe meeting support

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 2+ years of training/development or HR experience in legal, finance or banking 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact well and build professional relationships while maintaining confidentiality; a collaborative approach to working with others of all seniority levels
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel required
  • Ability to self-direct, manage multiple priorities, analyze needs and implement solutions
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with professionals at all levels
