Attorney Development Assistant

ORGANIZATION: Top-Ranked Law Firm

LOCATION: Washington, DC

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide administrative support to the Attorney Development department
  • Maintain department files, attorney personnel files, records and calendars
  • Process invoices, check requests and expense reports
  • Coordinate conference rooms including logistics for food and room set-up
  • Assist with the arrival and transfer process for all attorneys, including: orientation schedules, office tours and processing moving expenses
  • Assist with the departure process for attorneys
  • Assist with attorney parental leave procedures
  • Assist with attorney bar admission process and bar renewals
  • Prepare and maintain CLE applications and files
  • Assist with the attorney evaluation process
  • Assist with attorney engagement efforts
  • Track and monitor legal personnel information
  • Coordinate office moves

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience is required
  • Minimum of 1+ years of administrative or secretarial experience in a professional services or law firm environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to learn computer software quickly and independently
  • Flexibility and willingness to perform a wide range of tasks extending beyond routine expectation
  • Desire to be challenged and to take on additional responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively, dispassionately and diplomatically
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate smoothly with many other people and departments
  • Very strong customer service skills
