ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
LOCATION: San Francisco, CA | Palo Alto, CA

SUMMARY: The Associate Director of Human Resources will provide both overall strategic HR leadership and hands-on day-to-day support to the Firm’s West Coast Offices
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer and works closely with the Senior Director of Administration
- Manage HR staff across the firm’s west coast offices
- Cultivate strategic internal stakeholder relationships, and manage communication across multiple departments
- Drive performance management; proactively manage problem areas and key issues
- Develop a regional staffing strategy for key positions
- Manage day-to-day employee relations
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations to ensure business practices are in compliance
- Provide information, advice and direction to managers on HR related matters
- Determine staff development and training needs with managers
- Travel between Bay Area locations, as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree AND/OR PHR certification
- 7+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or professional services environment, with 5+ years experience in an HR leadership role
- Prior experience in performance management, change management and management development and training
- Possess deep knowledge of Federal, California, and local employment laws
- Ability to demonstrate an analytical skill set to strategically manage decisions
- Ability to collaborate with other departments and leadership
- Excellent interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written communication abilities
