Assistant Director of Alumni Relations (Top Law Firm)

LOCATION: New York, NY 

ORGANIZATION: Top-ranked global law firm

COMPENSATION: Base salary up to $270K, plus a competitive performance-based bonus

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Oversee and manage the global alumni database (InterAction)
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the alumni program
  • Partner with key stakeholders across practices and offices 
  • Maintain and oversee content on the Firm’s alumni website
  • Collaborate with the editorial team on bi-annual issues of the Firm’s alumni magazine
  • Coordinate with AD on offerings to alumni
  • Work with current Firm attorneys to establish primary partner contacts for departed attorneys
  • Develop metrics for measuring the success of the alumni program
  • Provide quarterly summary of alumni job changes
  • Track referrals that have come to the Firm via alumni
  • Recommend innovative approaches to deliver department services
  • Establish collaborative partnerships across departments
  • Understand business needs 
  • Convene groups in formal and informal settings
  • Participate in collaborative and high level projects
  • Forecast financial and budget requirements 
  • Oversee employees’ work performance
  • Monitor time, attendance, overtime and expense reports
  • Participate in the interviewing, selection and training process
  • Initiate disciplinary procedures in collaboration with HR

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of related legal business development/marketing experience in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Must currently hold a Senior or Global Manager designation for at least 2 years of management experience; 10 years of management experience
  • Must have demonstrated experience directly coordinating or managing and evaluating the work of 10+ people
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or similar field preferred
  • Knowledge of the AmLaw 100 legal landscape
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates good judgment in communication  
  • Strong technological skills
  • Works well under pressure and in a collaborative environment
