ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISOR

SUMMARY: Seeking a Legal Administrative Supervisor to collaborate and interact with the Assistant Director of Administrative Services and ensure that support functions are in place for each practice group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and maintain daily staffing requirements of legal administrative assistants 

  • Assess workflow with floor coordinators 

  • Manage workflow between floor coordinators and practice group centers

  • Inform director of and document any potential issues 

  • Develop team efforts across all practice groups

  • Prepare and recommend training, mentoring and individualized assessment training for new and existing legal administrative assistants

  • Develop and propose new strategies to improve upon cluster and practice group center procedures

  • Manage the integration process of new legal administrative assistants with the procedures and fundamentals of their practice group

  • Educate attorneys on services provided by legal administrative assistants

  • Communicate with attorneys and legal administrative assistants to ensure administrative support standards are met

  • Assist director of administrative services in the annual performance review process

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in a role providing legal administrative support, and coordinating/supervising such support, in a law firm

  • Experience as a supervisor is required

  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs such as, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word with the ability to learn new software and operating systems

  • Excellent work ethic and strong teamwork skills in a high volume, high pressure environment

  • Must be flexible, organized, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a calm, pleasant demeanor

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, staff and clients

  • Able to keep matters confidential
