OVERVIEW: The Cash Receipts and Escrow Account Assistant provides direct support and reports to the Cash Receipts and Escrow Manager. This entry-level role is responsible for the research, recording, and reporting of cash receipts, and will assist in opening and liquidating escrow transactions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute accounting tasks with strong discipline 
  • Work efficiently with an emphasis on internal client service
  • Ensure timely application of all cash receipts in client accounting system 
  • Research cash receipts 
  • Assist with handling complex billing and client analysis projects
  • Maintain record of client and office cash receipt
  • Prepare daily report of collections, billings, and billable hours
  • Process escrow transactions
  • Process personal charge withholdings
  • Support firm personnel in the tracking of cash received
  • Provide assistance with year-end audit request
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Handles assigned attorney(s) billing and collection activity
  • Communicate directly with management regarding discrepancies 
  • Interact with clients, attorneys, and professional staff at all levels to support the records management needs of the firm

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must be capable of delivering effective oral presentations on all aspects of records management
  • Comfortable learning new systems, software and skills
  • A team player who is well organized and is comfortable establishing priorities
  • A self-confident, dependable, individual who is able to work well with attorneys and administrative staff
  • Ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and discretion
