Accounting and Compliance Manager

ORGANIZATION: International Law Firm

LOCATION: New York, NY

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report to the Controller
  • Lead and manage a team of 2-4 Accountants
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the Firm’s leadership
  • Provide mentorship to the accounting team
  • Review department staff; recommend improvements depending on performance
  • Oversee and manage the annual audit of the firm financial statements and employee benefit plans
  • Develop and maintain a library of documents
  • Develop and oversee global best practices for the Firm
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account analyses and bank reconciliations
  • Review monthly reconciliations

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and CPA required
  • 6+ years of related accounting or financial analysis experience in a professional services environment
  • Managerial experience required
  • Perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service to clients and attorneys while producing a high quality work product
  • Able to multitask and prioritize
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team environment, as well as independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
