Accounting Analyst

LOCATION: New York, NY | San Francisco, CA | Los Angeles, CA | Seattle, WA | Mountain View, CA

OVERVIEW: Seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Analyst looking to develop a long-term career within the Finance department of a top-ranked law firm. This role will support the daily financial operations including Fixed Asset and Depreciation maintenance, account reconciliations and analysis, banking, Accounts Payable vendor facilitation/liaison and the annual budget process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and maintain fixed assets and accumulated depreciation depreciation records
  • Provide depreciation analysis and projections
  • Create and maintain new accounts payable vendor profiles
  • Perform various banking related duties 
  • Reconcile Partner related accounts
  • Reconcile payroll clearing, EE and ER tax accounts
  • Responsible for preparing and maintaining monthly reporting tasks; provide proposals for process changes and oversees their implementation
  • Conduct financial modeling, forecasts, variance analysis and data analysis and interpretation of impact on business
  • Investigate and assist department heads and budgeters across the Firm with discrepancies
  • Develop a thorough grasp of the data presented, including where the data originates and whether the information is accurate
  • Maximize financial reporting quality by developing and implementing process improvements in reporting and budgeting operations
  • Provide budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial report design, production, and distribution advice, project management, training, and support across the Firm

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting/financial reporting, modeling or analysis experience
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of budgeting, accounting and systems
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accounting concepts, as well as prior experience with Aderant software and Chrome River
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical & communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands under tight deadlines and maintain confidentiality
