POSITION: Accountant – Entry Level
LOCATION: New York, NY

OVERVIEW: Seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Accountant looking to develop a long-term career within the Accounting department of a well-established law firm. This position provides support to the Financial Operations Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide analytical support and information requests to Financial Operations Manager
- Process expense reports and invoices, prepare cost batches, wires and checks
- Audit coding for receipts and approve expense reports and invoices
- Prepare and generate Excel Spreadsheets and reports for Partners including cash and billing reports
- Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports
- Analyze trends and investigate discrepancies
- Complete month-end financial close, monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities and financial statement analysis
- Prepare account reconciliation; process and analyze account transactions including accrued expenses, journal entries and maintain up to date files
- Research, analyze and resolve inquiries pertaining to financial transactions
- Review daily transactions and partner with non-accounting staff as needed
- Manages balance sheet accounts ensuring integrity by thoroughly reviewing account activity and balances for validity and prepare supporting audit schedules
- Take part in providing information for year-end audit and tax preparation
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1+ year of accounting/financial reporting, auditing or tax experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize competing demands under tight deadlines
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Familiarity with Elite and Chrome River is a plus!

- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary
